My Teaching

My time teaching in the CUNY system has made me deeply passionate about providing undergraduates with opportunities to engage with philosophical ideas for the first time. Not only does philosophy help students hone their critical thinking skills, it provides them with intellectual confidence and a better appreciation of their own capabilities. Because my own undergraduate philosophy classes were instrumental in my personal development, I want to provide these same opportunities to my own students, regardless of their backgrounds.

My approach to teaching is founded on the belief a classroom should be collaborative community in which everyone feels empowered to engage with new ideas in interesting and creative ways. I firmly believe that Philosophy should not be limited to privileged few but should be made accessible to all students. Therefore, I strive to make my classes as engaging as possible and to present information in ways that are relevant to my students’ lives.
